Girls School Emergency Kit

Last school year my oldest daughter started middle school. Crazy, really! During the process of school supply buying, I had this idea. It is a brilliant idea really, that she should have an emergency kit for her school bag. Every girl should have one!

What should the emergency kit include? For ours we included:

  • Kleenex
  • Lip Chap
  • Hair Elastics
  • Band Aids
  • Bobby Pins
  • Pads
  • Deodorant

Contents of our Emergency Bag

It could also include hair brushes/combs (my girls have super curly hair, dry brushing is forbidden), mirror, make up, medicine, a couple dollars, and so on. It just depends in the age of the girl. I made one for our middle daughter this year and hers doesn’t include pads because well, she is 7.

I would think that you could make a similar emergency bag for a boy and include basically the same essential items, deodorant, combs, etc. I don’t have any boys, so I really don’t understand the needs of boys. (Sorry)

What do you put all your items in? I thought about this one for a little bit, I had a few different thoughts. I could use a cosmetic bag, a hard pencil case, a fabric pencil case, a lunch container, the possibilities are endless. I ended up choosing the fabric pencil case because, even though the colors are bright, it fits nicely and is hidden well in a back pack. Cost was also a motivator, when it came to choosing.

Our little emergency kit has proven to be beneficial for my daughters, and it would seem on occasion their friends. In girl world, you share things, thankfully our bags don’t contain hair brushes.

Did I miss anything? Is there any other items our little emergency bags should contain? Or maybe someone with boys could share what a person would put into a bag for a boy?
