Back in November I posted about waterbeads and how much fun we have with them, the original post is here. We love them, I buy them by the dozens! and I mean dozens! You can get them in so many different colors, I don’t have a favorite. There are so many different ways to play with them and use them. We have painted with them, froze them, and played with them in our water table. We also use them for plants, instead of dirt. We put them in Ziploc bags and freeze them to use as ice packs. My little daughter is 2, her favorite play with water beads is to throw and squish them, they do have quite a bounce to them when they are thrown.
While I was at work recently my co-worker and I had a crazy idea to make a light table to put the waterbeads on.
Our water table cost us under $5.00 plus the cost of the water beads. To create the water table we used a small clear plastic storage container and 3 push lights. We purchased these 4 items at the dollar store. We turned the lights on inside the container, put the cover on, and placed the water beads on the cover. The water beads had been grown prior to this, so they were already good to go. It was loads of fun, the lights shine through the beads. I have also purchased a color changing light, that you can place directly in the water and it flashes. Super cool!
To share my love of Water beads, I am going to do a giveaway. Everyone needs to enjoy them. The winner of the giveaway will receive 5 packages of water Beads. If you want to purchase some water beads you can do so at www.waterbeads.ca. You can also follow them on twitter.
