Sheppard’s Pie





Even though the weather is getting warmer and we are all thinking of Barbeques, easy meals to cook, and putting the long harsh winter behind us, I couldn’t help but share my families’ love of Sheppard’s pie. Something so simple to create!

To create my Sheppard’s I use:

  • Lean ground beef
  • Carrots
  • Red Onions
  • Frozen peas and corn
  • Beef broth
  • Minced garlic
  • Potatoes
  • Shredded cheese


The first thing I do is cook my lean ground beef; I also cut and cook the potatoes at the same.  While that is cooking I cut up the carrots and red onion.  I use a 9 by 9 Pyrex dish to cook the Sheppard’s pie, once the lean ground beef is done I throw everything into the Pyrex dish  add the minced garlic minus the potatoes and stir it all up. Then I mash the potatoes and spread them on top. I also add some shredded cheese to the top of my potatoes. Then I bake for about 30 minutes. Enjoy!

Sometimes we go crazy and do Sheppard’s pie upside down. I mash the potatoes and place on a plate, and then I add the mix of lean ground beef and vegetables on top. When doing it upside I don’t add the beef broth.
