January Meal Menu Ideas
One of our goals for 2014 was to learn to live on one income! We have decided that a way to help us achieve this goal is to plan out our meals. We need to know what we will be eating so that when it is time to go grocery shopping we know exactly what we will need and it will help to stop the impulse buying. I am also hoping that it will help with the times when we don’t know what to make and end up eating out, eating out is expensive. We have $400.00 each month to feed our family of 5, it will be tight but with careful planning I am sure that we can do it. I know that there will be some trial and error when it comes to doing this, I also realize to that this may not be a great idea for us as a family but we will give it a try.
We have planned out our suppers. On some days there are question marks, on those days I will create us a meal with what we have in our cupboards. For lunches we eat mostly sandwichs, wraps, and leftover. For breakfasts we east usually cereal, toast, oatmeal, eggs, or fruit. I make our rolls, and items for lunches such as rice krispie squares, muffins, and treats. This month I am going to start making our bread and hamburger buns. As I am sure you can tell we eat a lot of yhe same things over and over again. I do have a few new recipes on the January plan and I hope to get some new ideas for when it comes tome to make the Febraury plan.
